Transparent pricing, fair fares
At Zim-it, we believe in clear, equitable pricing for both riders and drivers. Discover how we calculate our fares, the payment options available, and the special offers designed to give you the best value in SADC.
Value for money for riders
We ensure our prices offer excellent value compared to other transport options in the SADC region. Our win-win pricing strategy keeps fares competitive and transparent for customers, while drivers receive a fair share after our modest service fee.
| Our commitment to fair pricing | How we achieve it |
|---|---|
| Competitive and transparent fares | Using smart, dynamic pricing based on real costs (distance, time, fuel prices) rather than excessive surges. |
| Fair driver earnings | Regularly reviewing earnings data to ensure drivers can make a decent living — many report better and more consistent income than informal kombi or street taxi work. |
| Driver incentives | Offering incentives like peak-hour bonuses, fuel subsidies during high inflation periods, and loyalty rewards for top-performing drivers. |
Our goal is sustainable growth: happy customers who keep coming back, and motivated drivers who stay with us long-term. Fairness is at the core of Zim-it.
How we calculate your fare
The final price is calculated automatically and shown upfront before you confirm your booking, ensuring predictability and fairness. Minor adjustments may occur if the actual route or time differs significantly due to traffic or route changes.
| Fare component | Description |
|---|---|
| Base fare | A starting amount depending on the ride type. |
| Distance | Charged per kilometre. |
| Time | Charged per minute (especially in traffic). |
| Demand multiplier | During peak hours, bad weather, or high-demand events, a transparent surge factor may apply (clearly displayed). |
| Location-specific factors | Pickup/drop-off in high-traffic or remote areas. |
| Vehicle type | Premium or larger vehicles have higher rates. |
| Promotions or discounts | Any applicable promotions or discounts will be factored in. |
Flexible payment options
